New work by guitarist and composer Cañizares.
It includes an unpublished work by the great composer Rodrigo.
The present disc, tenth of the series by Cañizares, is dedicated to maestro Joaquín Rodrigo (Sagunto, 1901 - Madrid, 1999), who, almost thirty years ago, opened the doors to the symphonic world with his immortal Aranjuez Concert.
To open this last album of the series I have chosen, with love, Aranjuez,ma pensée a composition created by the author of the Aranjuez Concert based on his famous Adagio. With a special permission for this occasion, I have added tremolo-shaped accompaniments to the melody, in order to create an environment closer to the orchestral version.
The second piece, Preludio at sunset, is an unpublished work by maestro Rodrigo, composed in 1926 and discovered by D. Javier Suárez Pajares in 2018. Thanks to the generosity of Doña Cecilia Rodrigo, daughter of the master, whom from these lines I want to show my gratitude, I have had the privilege and honor of interpreting it for the first time in history. When approaching this work, the original score receives the guitarist with a beautiful metaphor: "In the evening a guitar sighs, there ... almost in the Alhambra"; and without a doubt this composition evokes continuous Andalusian reminiscences, with marked Flemish imprint in some passages.
